Hey all! just thought i would write one last blog for the season about nationals. As always it was so much fun to see all of my old friends and coaches from Minnesota. Also good to see all of my USASA teammates!
The first few days of nationals I cruised around copper and watched some of my friends kill it! such as Faye Gulini winning bordercross!! I also got to see some of the little rippers get after slope and halfpipe which is always fun! i was definitely impressed to say the least.
My first event of nationals was the rail jam on Tuesday night. During practice I fell in-between two of the rails and hit my knee against one of the posts holding the rail up. I got a pretty good puncture and a bruised knee which is still giving me some trouble. So I opted out of that event. The next day I did half pipe. This year I have been focused on slopestyle so this was my first pipe comp of the season. All of my tricks came back pretty quick and even though i missed finals by a few spots I still had a lot of fun! The last day I had slopestyle. I landed my first run of qualifiers and got a high score which always takes the pressure off a little bit. In finals, I fell my first run on a cab 5. I decided that instead of doing a mellow run that it would be more fun to send it my second run. So I hit the big side and landed a 720 off the last jump. it was my first 720 in contest so it felt really good! I ended up 3rd and was stoked on that!
All in all, it was a wonderful week! so good to see familiar faces and meet new ones. I hope everyone had a good time!! Ill be at hood this summer so hopefully i will see some of you there!!
