Open Ceremonies

 

With 1705 registered competitors the 23rd Annual USASA National Championship began at Copper Mountain. The commencement ceremony kicked off with athletes, representing 32 regional series, parading into the awards venue.  Elan Fleetwood, a 9 year old Grommet Girl’s competitor, sang the national anthem officially starting the week’s competitions.  Wing Lam was awarded the prestigious founders award for his last 18 years of service at USASA Nationals.

Things to look forward to this week include the following. The premier of the Lil’ Rascals Rail Jam, for Ruggies and Grommets, 9 and under (Registration for the event will still be open till Monday at 9:00 a.m.) Cholula Hot Sauce’s daily Hot Shot Award at Halfpipe, Slopestyle, and Rail Jam and the SPY Optics Raffle for SPY Swag and demos at the SPY Tent.
