Hagen Kearney: Park City Update

thumb_IMG_2159After I got back from New Zealand in late September I packed up my truck with my Harley and have been living in Park City, Utah, training at the USSA Center Of Excellence with the US Team. I am currently on my 6th week of training and it is a lot of hard work! The training is phenomenal. I am in the gym 5 days a week for a few hours. I am getting stronger every day as I prepare myself for the 2012-2013 season. I am learning so much by being out here with an amazing group of people. I not only train with fellow US SBX team members, but I train with members of the Slopestyle and Halfpipe teams, both Ski and Snowboard teams as well as the Alpine Ski Team. Those guys are some of the strongest athletes in winter sports. Our trainer, Tschana Breslin, is amazing and has us doing hard workouts!

thumb_IMG_2247When I am not training at the COE, I usually go for a skate session, whether it is in the skateboarding facilities located in the COE (which are sick!!) or around the Salt Lake/Park City Area. There are some amazing skate parks in this part of Utah! Heber City, Oakley and Park City all have awesome parks, not to mention the parks scattered around Salt Lake City. I have been skating with people such as Trevor Jacob and head Halfpipe coach Ricky Bower. It’s a good all around scene out here!

thumb_IMG_2252I am also out here with fellow USASA teammate, Jacqueline Hernandez! She is looking pretty tough these days after a lot of hard work in the gym. It has been a rad time training with her and everyone and I am feeling really good and healthy coming into this season. Our first competition coming up is a World Cup in Montafan, Austria! You will see an update on that in December!

See you on the hill!
