What we're made of

One of our adaptive competitors Chris Slavin is restricted to a wheelchair due to a snowboarding accident last year at nationals. Not one to be held back, she is at Nationals again this year in a sit ski.

While on the way to competition yesterday morning she got stranded by the huge amount of snow. After 15 grown men passed her without offering any assistance she was approached by a young skier from the Maine Mountain series, Nat Skillin. He was already loaded down with gear but still stopped to help free Chris from the snow and on her way. That just goes to show the character of the kids we have here this week.

All the men who passed her by were just vacationers, not USASA members and a boy from the 11-15 skiers group knew what to do. Props Nat!!! You are the kind of person we love to have around here.
