Day 4 started out sunny, with the clouds and wind rolling in for Open Class Pipe finals. All the riders threw down, putting on their game faces in front of the GO211.com webcast crew.
The little ones really threw down at slope today. The top ten kids in Menehune Boys were spinning off the big side under bluebird skies until the clouds rolled in for finals. Seamus O’Conner took first, Nikolas Baden walked with second and Benny Milam took third. The competition was super tight and probably the closest we have seen this week. The conditions held up well despite the changing conditions until the wind kicked up and pushed some riders around.
It was a speed suit fiesta with the Menehune girls at Slalom. The flashes of colors sped by on a very challenging course with the girls killing it. Ty Walker continued her winning streak taking first, followed by Lindsey Lumpkin in second and Nora Healey in third.
The big story of the day, however, was the PacSun/USASA team, as the ladies took a full sweep of the half pipe podium. Second-year team member Kaitlyn Farrington took the gold, and was joined on the podium by fellow team members Kelly Marren and Molly Wilson. Kelly wowed the crowd with a big backside nine.
