USASA & Swatch TTR
The USASA National Championships Open Class Halfpipe and Slopestyle events are 3 Star TTR ranked events, part of the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour. The TTR is the Ticket To Ride, an international ranking system. The point system is used to rank snowboarders on an international level and includes events like the Revolution Tour (2 Star events), the Grand Prix events (4 Stars) and the Burton Global Open Series. This should motivate the Open Class riders across the country to compete at their local events to make sure they qualify for the Nationals this year! There are not many events in this country that you can qualify for and earn TTR points – this is a pretty big deal!

How do I qualify for Nationals?
2012 USASA National Championships
Copper Mountain, CO
March 31 - April 10, 2012
To Qualify:
- 2010 Nationals Overall & Discipline Champions are automatically “pre-qualified” for the 2011 National Championships. These champions must compete in at least 1/2 of this season’s CMS events.
- Earning the top overall points in your age division for a single discipline qualifies an athlete for the National Championships in that discipline. This means an athlete can qualify for the National Championships in a single discipline such as Halfpipe, Slopestyle, Rail Jam, Giant Slalom, Slalom, Boardercross or Skiercross, as well as any combinations of disciplines that an athlete has earned the overall points leader status. Overall points will be determined as follows:
- Boardercross/Skiercross – Best 3 events
- Giant Slalom – Best 3 events
- Halfpipe – Best 3 events
- Rail Jam – Best 3 events
- Slalom – Best 3 events
- Slopestyle – Best 3 events
- In the event the top overall finisher is unable to attend, the second place finisher will qualify.
- The remaining National Championship spots will be awarded based on the National Ranking System. National Ranking scores will consist of the athlete’s best 3 scores from any 2011-2012 event earned at any time in any series or the previous year’s National Championships.
- An athlete must compete in at least 2 events in a discipline in order to be eligible for National's qualification in that discipline.
