1/2/2011 HAPPY NEW YEAR! Final details will be coming out this week. Deadline for early registration for the first weekend of competition will be Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at Midnight. Registration on site will be available on Saturday and Sunday but there will be a $20 on site registration fee. Early registration will greatly speed up competition days.
12/20/2010 The first weekend of competition for the 2010/2011 season will be January 15 & 16. On Saturday, we will have halfpipe and boardercross competitions and on Sunday we will have Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Slopestyle. Assuming everything gets set up, we will be using online registration this year. This should significantly streamline registration and help us start the competitions earlier. More information about this will be available soon. The Cholula trophies and samples have already arrived as well as products from Pro-Tec, ThirtyTwo, and High Cascade and gift certificates from Focus Board Shop in Madison and the Board Shop in Lake Geneva . More products are on the way.
1/19/10 The first weekend of comps will be this weekend. Halfpipe and Boardercross/Skiercross on Saturday and Slopestyle, Slalom & Giant Slalom on Sunday. Online registration is not set up yet so we will be utilizing paper forms for this first weekend. Forms will be available on the Tyrol Basin website, www.tyrolbasin.com and at customer service. Fees for this year are 1 event $25, 2 events $35, 3 events $45, 4 events $55, 5 events $60. USASA full, one day,or trial membership is required. We have great national sponsors like Dakine, Cholula, Monster, Skullcandy, and Windells as well as regional sponsors including FOX, RIDE, Thirty-Two, Etnies, Pro-Tec, Focus Snow & Skate, Railyard Rails and the Board Shop. Awards and prizes will be given out on Sunday after the competitions. We are working to streamline all aspects of the registration and competition as well as keep the events fun. All snowboarders are encouraged to competed in all five disciplines and skiers are encouraged to compete in Pipe, Slope, & Skiercross. Overall series champions will receive a bid to USASA Nationals at Copper Mountain, CO.
1/19/10 We have worked out a special deal with Railyard Rails to make their products available at a reduced price for Tyrol competitors. We will have a demo rail at our events. They have a great product and they are a midwest company out of Marquette, MI. We will have additional details available at the events.
10/18/09 All snowboarders and skiers (all ages and abilities) are welcome to come out and get involved in the USASA Series at Tyrol Basin! Please sign up for your annual membership on-line at www.usasa.org before your first event. Our first event will be on Januray 23 & 24, 2010 - Halfpipe, Boardercross and Skiercross on Saturday and Slopestyle, Giant Slalom and Slalom on Sunday. Please check our schedule of events for the list of competitions. Both boarders and skiers can compete in the freestyle and boardercross events.
11/7/09 All the events have been posted on the USASA website. Online registration is going to be utilized for the first time this year. This will streamline registration on the mornings of the events and hopefully get us on the hill earlier. This year, we are holding three events in each of the five disciplines. There will be three weekends of competition. Our overall series winners in each age group will be determined utilizing the best two out of three scores. All three scores can be utilized in acheiving a National Ranking. Remember - Snowboarders can compete in all five disciplines and skiers are encouraged to compete in Halfpipe, Slopestyle, and Skiercross.
Competitor Information
HELMETS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL EVENTS. COMPETITIORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SUPPLYING SNOWSPORTS CERTIFIED HELMETS. Age groups for men and women from under 6 to over 60.
How do I Qualify for the Nationals?
To qualify for the USASA 2011 National Championships (HELD AT COPPER MTN, COLORADO) you must take top overall points in your age division for an event or accumulate enough National Ranking points, this means you can qualify for Nationals in single disciplines such as HalfPipe, SlopeStyle, Giant Slaom, Slalom, or BoarderCross®/Skiercross.
Event Information
The USASA Membership fee is required of all competitors. There are different options for membership including Full Membership (accumulates points for Nationals), One Day Membership (no points for Nationals and cannot be upgraded to Full), and Trial Membership (only available to people who have never belonged to USASA and can be upgraded to Full Membership within two weeks). Event registration is 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM. Start Times about 11:30AM (weather permitting) Great Product Raffle, Cash Prizes, & Awards happen right after all the events are done on Sunday!
