Level 100 or 200 Recertification Information

You will be able to take your Level 100 or 200 Recertification Test for $60 online. Certifications last for 2 years, so if you took your 100 or 200 more than 2 years ago, you will need to recertify. Online recertification is available for your first recert. After the first recert, you must attend a clinic to recertify.

For example, if you got your Level 100 in November of 2006, you can take your level 100 Re-Cert online in 2008. If you wish to re-cert again in 2010, you need to attend a Level 100 clinic. At any time, you can attend a clinic to get your 200. Make sense?

USASA Executive Board Coaches Representative

Each year, the coaches of USASA nominate and elect a coaches rep to the USASA Executive Board. This position gives the coaches a voice in the management and direction of USASA. Nominations are taken at the annual USASA board meeting during Nationals. Votes are then submitted by e-mail over the next two weeks after the nominations. This year, there was one nomination, so our Coaches Rep for the 2010-2011, by default is.....Ben Boyd of the Ski and Snowboard Club of Vail.

Coach Education Program

The US Snowboard Coach Education program is a joint effort between USASA and USSA. The goal is to provide a consistent path for coaches to get the training and resources they need to help their athletes reach their goals in the sport. Certification begins with the USASA who will be responsible for Club Coach (Level 100) and Regional Coach (Level 200) clinics. USSA handles the National Coach (Level 300) and Pro Coach (Level 400) courses. The US Snowboard Coach Education Committee is responsible for the development and implementation of the clinics and exams at each level. Regional trainers will host and examine clinic throughout the US for the 2009-20010.
