2010 Mid-Atlantic Snowboard & Freeski Series
Registration has officially opened online for all events. Click on the respective event to register and SAVE $5 for each event. Pre-Registration each week closes the Wednesday before the proposed event weekend.
This season all of our Halfpipe and Slopestyle events will also be 1 Star TTR Sanctioned events. The TTR is a world ranking sanctioned organization that sanctiones events like the Burton Global Open Series, Roxy Chicken Jam, US Snowboard Grand Prix and others. In addition to those mentioned, The USASA Nationals is also TTR Sanctioned for the Open Class. By having 1 Star TTR Sanctioned events at the regional level, this will allow all athletes to begin their quest for bigger events in the future and create a foundation to gain entry to point specific events. For more information on TTR please log onto www.TTRworldtour.com .
The Mid-Atlantic Snowboard Series is now the Mid-Atlantic Snowboard & Freeski Series
The 2009 - 2010 USASA Mid-Atlantic Series competition schedule is now posted. Go to the Mid-Atlantic events section to check it out!
This year's USASA Mid-Atlantic Series schedule features 3 Slopestyle, 4 Halfpipe, 4 Boardercross/Skiercross, 4 Slalom and 4 Giant Slalom competitions for USASA National Points to qualify you for the National Championships in April to be held again this year at Copper. We'll be using a different qualification format then last season to determine the series champions. Series Champions per discipline will be determined from the best two results. Tie breaker will be the last event for that discipline.
What a great opportunity in your own backyard!
The Revolution Tour will be on the east coast in January. I encourage any athletes seeking to continue the pipeline of competition and show their skills to register and compete. Log onto www.ussnowboarding.com for more information.
Registration for the upcoming season is open until the Wednesday before each comeptition weekend.
The posted 09/10 schedule is tentative and may be subject to change.
Series Background
Founded in 1988 by Tony and Cathy Lincoln. Bill Van Gilder was passed the torch by this couple and now works with his wife Rebecca Van Gilder. The Mid-Atlantic Snowboard Series has proven to be the leader in grassroots snowboard competition in the region. Following Tony and Cathy's 10 years the Van Gilders are now in their 11th season as the organizing duo. They welcome any and all to come enjoy the spirit of snowboard and free ski competition.
